Speaker Biographies:
Bibi Bakare-Yusuf is the Co-Founder and Publishing Director of Cassava Republic Press, a leading African publishing house based in Abuja and London.
Colleen Higgs is a writer and publisher. She founded Modjaji Books in 2007 and after publishing more than 200 books is still Modjaji’s manager and publisher. She also compiled six editions of the African Small Publishers’ Catalogue and is a co-ordinator of the English network of theInternational Alliance of Independent Publishers.
Sindiswa Busuku is a creative writer and a lecturer in the Department of English Literary Studies at the University of Cape Town. She is Editor-in-Chief.of New Contrast, one of the first South African literary journals. Her 2016 debut collection titled Loud and Yellow Laughter (Botsotso) – is winner of the 2018 Ingrid Jonker Prize for Poetry.
